Cluster server connection

Good day,
I have recently installed a 2 node cluster server with SQL 2000 SP3 in my
network. and have found out that users connect to the Virtual cluster server
inorder to receive SQL services but they get the replay for the physical
node that holds the SQL.
I was wondering if this configuration can be changed so that the SQL servers
answers back with the IP address of the virtual server and not the physical
cluster.
the problem is that im working with a Firewall and we would like to restrict
the number of IP address that we expose to the world.
Thanks in advance
Oren Zippori
This is one of the wierd but unavoidable artifacts of clustering. You will
have to expose the host computer's IP addresses through the firewall.
Personally, I like to run my database servers on an restricted segment, just
to minimize the impact of stuff like this.

CLUSTER

I have a SQL 7.0 Clustered Server with SP3. Sometimes a DB (16GB) becomes
suspect and the only way to get it back online is to reboot the server and
that gets it back to normal. This happens every week.
Any ideas?
Also can you tell me how to change the location where Microsoft Clustered
Server changes the Temporary file location. Currently on my server it is
c:\winnt which we want to change
Thanks
Rod
Rod,
You are probably better off calling Microsoft PSS to troubleshoot this
issue.

Client Oracle 9.2 on SQL 2000 Cluster

Hi, there are particular precautions about install Oracle 9.2 client software
on a cluster running SQL 2000 (SP3) ?
Can You tell me if there is doc. about?
Thank You in advanced,
Andrea
Hi
None that I am aware of, but first install it onto a test system before you
deploy it to production. You might have specific conditions in your
environemnt that may casue issues.

|||Andrea,
I think that you need to install the Oracle client on all nodes of your 2000
cluster. That is what we have done.

Client Hang

Hello,
We han a SQL Server Developer Edition (64-Bit) versión 8.00.760(SP3) that hangs our SQLServer Clients after starting a DTC transaction.
SQL Server service starts automatically at startup and it starts DTC.
?Does anybody know how to solve the problem and what is happening?

It could be an MS DTC problem. You can use a tool named DTCPing to
troubleshoot MS DTC operation:
